Single-Ply Roofing
Flat roofs are the most common roofing style for both commercial and industrial buildings. If your building has a flat roof, a single-ply membrane may be the best roofing system for your business.
Single-ply membranes are rubberized rolls of material that are laid directly on your existing roofing system.
With significantly reduced seams, membranes offer a waterproofing option that is cost-effective, while increasing the energy-efficiency of your building and helping reduce your cooling costs.

Types
There are three primary types of single-ply membranes, PVC, TPO, and EPDM.
- Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) has been used for many years. Being resistant to fire, chemical, and punctures makes it a great economical choice for commercial roofs. We prefer Duro-Last products as they are industry leaders in quality, performance, and warranty.
- Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) has become the most used single-ply membrane option for commercial buildings with 40% of commercial building owners requesting it. It is naturally reflective, easy to install and very cost-effective.
- Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM), also known as “rubber roofing,” consists of a synthetic flexible rubber compound. It is used less frequently since cool roofing has become a more common request.

Benefits
The benefits of single-ply membranes to your building are varied. Some of the most common are:
- Increased roof longevity
- Additional protection
- Cost-effective
- Easy to install
- Environmentally friendly
- Reduced waste
- Recyclable
- Reflective
- Easy Maintenance
Single-ply membranes can be applied over almost any roofing substrate or existing roofing system. This versatility has helped make membranes a prime option for many building owners.
Membrane Installation
Single-ply membranes come in rolls and require less labor to install than many other systems. Once the rolls are laid across your roof, we use either adhesive or mechanical fasteners to attach the membrane to the roof.
Then seams are sealed with the same adhesive or are heat welded, depending on the type of membrane chosen. This easy installation results in cost and time efficiency.
Our craftsmen are dedicated to installing your single-ply membrane correctly the first time.
